We spent a magical couple of hours this morning
opening one glorious box after another of beautiful brand new books for the
library. Thanks to an anonymous donor, a recent Fellow, the library's
holdings in Italian literature have more than quadrupled overnight. We
now have wonderful first-class English translations of the best of Italy's
literature from Dante and Boccaccio to Ferrante and Ginzburg, Castiglione and
Pasolini, Calvino and Veronesi. Interns will soon set to cataloguing this
amazing addition of nearly 100 new titles to the library. From the bottom
of our hearts, we thank you for this generous and important collection. This
gift will be treasured by generations of Fellows to come.
What a beautiful gift!
