Arezzo Excursion

Tuesday, Fellows took a break from working and ventured to Arezzo, a bustling hilltown just over the Tuscan border. Arezzo is the birthplace of Guido d'Arezzo, the monk who invented musical notation as we know it. The group walked through the town, past the Duomo, and saw a fragment of a fresco by Piero della Francesca. Next the group visited a church called Santa Maria della Pieve, and then the church of San Francesco to see another of Piero's works which tells the story of the true Cross.
