On May 17th,
the Fellows ventured to Arezzo to visit works of Piero della Francesca in
the Basilica San Francesco and the Cathedral of Santi Pietro e Donato, followed
by a gelato at the award-winning gelateria Violetta.
Composer
Linda Buckley (CRF 2016) stands in front of a statue of Guido Monaco, 11th
century Benedictine monk and music theorist credited with the
invention of modern music notation.

The Fellows
admire the Romanesque church of Santa Maria della Pieve, whose
intentional asymmetries and idiosyncracies were designed to ward off evil
spirits.
