Close to 40 new friends and Fellows gathered in Madrid, Spain, to learn
about Civitella and to suggest nominators and nominees in visual arts, writing,
and musical composition. In the near 20 years of Civitella's
international history, few Fellows have been from Spain so we took this
opportunity to build stronger bridges with our European neighbor. Our
host and Madrid contact, Maricruz Bilbao (visual arts juror) organized a
wonderful slate of guests.
Diego Mencaroni and Dana Prescott gave a
presentation on the program and opportunities for Fellowships and Affiliated
Fellowships. Fellow Nina Melero (CRF2011) and Pilar Pertusa (CR Intern 2003) spoke about their
Civitella experiences. After the cocktail party, a few lingered for
Diego's pasta tartufata.
