Last Thursday, in New York, over a hundred Fellows, Director's Guests, and friends of Civitella gathered at the Elizabeth Harris Gallery to celebrate the 2011 season. The 2011 catalogue (which can be viewed
here) was displayed at the event, and two films made at Civitella during 2011 were premiered:
Pat Oleszko's (CRF 2011)
DeClamorOn, an absurd and totally engrossing play on Boccaccio's
Decameron; and
Ahmad Yazid (CRF 2011) and
Sakshi Gupta's (CRF 2011)
Silvana, a beautiful, silent film featuring the lamb that briefly resided at Civitella last summer. You can view
Silvana here, and we hope to share Pat's film on the blog soon as well, so that those who were unable to attend the party can see it.

Also presenting work were
Eliza Griswold (CRF 2011), who read two poems she wrote at Civitella;
Rit Premnath (CRF 2011), who spoke about his experience as a visual artist at Civitella; and Andrew Norman (Director's Guest 2011), who presented a movement from his work
The Companion Guide to Rome, performed at the party by violist Anne Lanzilotti.

Many thanks are due to all who presented, attended, and helped make the night as convivial as it was.

The evening was just perfect, and it's success is a testament not only to what a wonderful time we all had at Civitella but also to how welcome Dana always makes us feel. Thank you for another fantastic memory-- I'm nostalgic again & already...
