Today at the Castle we watched as a team of 8 men carefully remounted the newly restored medieval castle doors to their rightful place.
The 'falegname' discovered many surprises as they removed years of dirt, peeling paint, and decay from the chestnut doors.
and multiple ballast burns and years of stressing are evident, as well. The metal fastenings, previously coated with rust, revealed beautiful incised work, and all of the original nails
and tacks are in place as well.
The artisani and restorers did a wonderful job.
Fellows will be glad to know that the doors have been discretely wired with a computerized keyless security system.
All Fellows will be given the code so they can enter and exit freely.
Come see!
