Diego in New York and Party Preparation

The day of the Annual Party is almost upon us, which means preparation is in full swing.  Diego Mencaroni arrived in New York late on Sunday and he, Dana, Jeff Albucher, and Judith Klinger visited the Gustiamo warehouse in the Bronx on Monday.  They toured the facility with Beatrice Ughi (photographed on the right), sampled imported Italian foods, and picked up the products Gustiamo so generously donated for the party.

Yesterday, Diego and our intern Freya Yost were hard at work preparing the party favors for Thursday.  While Freya carefully rolled and tied ribbon around over a hundred 20th Anniversary tote bags, Diego stepped outside to model the totes.  Each bag bears a 20th Anniversary logo in Civitella's signature Green, and all guests at the Annual Party will take one home with them.

The party will take place Thursday evening between 6:00 and 9:00 pm at ISSUE Project Room in Brooklyn. Along with a menu specially prepared for us by Peter Barrett (and featuring products from Gustiamo), guests can enjoy a delicious Tuscan white wine courtesy of Pasanella and Son Vintners and prosciutto from Prosciutto di Parma.  There will also be Perugina chocolates, which Diego personally brought with him from Italy.

The party will include the premiere of the 2013 Online Catalog, and there will be remarks and special performances beginning around 7:00 pm.  All of this will be followed by cake, gelato, and more revelry.  We sincerely hope you will join us to celebrate the Civitella Ranieri Center and Foundation's 20th Anniversary and honor the 2013 Fellows and Director's Guests.

If you have not already, please RSVP to mia@civitella.org or see the Upcoming Events page on our website for more details.
