Lisa Bielawa (CRF 2004): 'Crissy Broadcast'

This weekend, Lisa Bielawa's (CRF 2004) Crissy Broadcast will be performed in San Francisco, CA.  This large-scale, sonic-musical work will be played three times on Saturday and Sunday at the historic former airstrip, Crissy Field, in Golden Gate National Recreation Area.  Musicians begin in the center of the field and move outwards, and audience members are welcome to move about the field throughout the performance.  The concerts are free and open to the public.

Lisa will also serve as a panelist for two roundtable discussion on "Orchestras and Engagement" and "The Making of Airfield Broadcasts" at the Fort Mason Chapel. These discussions are also free and open to the public.

Earlier this month, sister project Tempelhof Broadcast was performed in Berlin. This piece was specifically composed to be performed at the Tempelhof Airport, which was famously part of the Berlin Airlift of 1948-9.
