Yesterday evening Vanessa Tomlinson and Jorge Queiroz presented their work at Civitella. Vanessa Tomlinson, an Australian percussionist, is active in the fields of solo percussion, contemporary chamber music, improvisation and composition. Jorge Queiroz, a Portuguese visual artist known mostly for his drawing, exhibited drawings he has been working on and two videos.
Vanessa Tomlinson played three "portraits" using every day objects. She discussed the role of movement, composition and environment in her work.
