James Mobberley's Presentation

Composer JAMES MOBBERLEY is Curators' Professor of Music at the Conservatory of Music of the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Awards include the Rome Prize, the Guggenheim Foundation, and recognition from the American Academy of Arts and Letters and the Van Cliburn Composers Invitational. Commissions have come from the Koussevitzky Foundation (Library of Congress), the Fromm Foundation at Harvard University, Chamber Music America, the St. Louis Symphony, the Barlow Foundation and others. He has appeared as Guest Composer with the Taiwan National Symphony, the American Composers Orchestra, the Composers Forum at Wellesley College, and over 40 colleges and universities around the world. His music has received over a thousand performances on five continents, and appeared on two dozen recordings. He is also an avid bicyclist.
He lives in Liberty, Missouri with his wife Laura and sons Lucas and Jacob
